Poster advertising Trans Australia Airlines – “There and back with TAA” c.1950’s
Trans Australia Airlines (TAA) was one of the two major domestic airlines in Australia from its inception in 1946 until its merger with QANTAS in 1992. The establishment of the airline broke the domestic monopoly of Australian National Airways (ANA) in the 1940’s. The logo of TAA was a flying red kangaroo. The logo of QANTAS is a flying white kangaroo. Coincidence??
Poster features a series of colourful boomerangs. Colour lithograph with screen print measuring approximately 60cm X 96cm. The printer was Victory Publicity and the poster was prepared in the 1950’s. A few minor tears in the margins, not entering the image area.
