Two of the very first prints of a Platypus. They were described and illustrated in Nodder & Shaw’s “Naturalist’s Miscellany”. George Shaw authored the work and Frederick Nodder was the engraver. They are hand coloured copperplate engravings measuring approx 17cm X 9cm. Both prints are dated June 1799. The accompanying text is included.
The two images are being sold as a pair for $999.
